The charts on the preloaded inland lakes models won't work. One last note: HomePort only works on the coastal charts at this time. Then you can load it on more than one computer. Make sure you buy the software on the card not the download. The price is right ($30) and it's a pretty cool concept. Make sure you check for software updates on this software on a regular basis. It is not as powerful as MapSource but I think it's because they're still working out the bugs. I like the software for what it does, gives you the chart detail for the entire US Coast. You can't just move the file to the computer, it has to read it from the SD card.Īlso, if you have a Garmin G2 Vision card, HomePort will read this as well. NOTE: You have to have the preloaded chart card in the computer and HomePort has to see this file for you to get the detail. The main problem is that old Garmins used. The software should find your chart card and give you the detail you want. Garmin HomePort software not updated for 64bit MacOS used a PC at work to do it last time. Insert the preloaded chart card and open HomePort on your computer. Lowrance, Simrad and B&G owners can transfer routes and markers and update. Doing this will erase the HomePort software.ģ. Garmin Homeport on my PC 3) Using Homeport, convert ADM file to a GPX file. NOTE: Do Not Use the HomePort card to load the maps like Garmin tells you to. Download all of the charts from your GPS to a blank SD card (use at least a 2GB card, there's a lot of data.) This will take from 30-45 minutes to do. Load the HomePort software on your computer.Ģ. The detail you'll see on your computer is exactly what you have on your GPS, and what MapSource will show as well.ġ. If deeper water coverage is needed, the GT51 transducer comes on special from time to time around the $600 to $650 mark.Actually Homeport is a software that allows you to use the charts from your preloaded, late model Garmin units on your computer to review trips, waypoints, routes, ect. I'm running an Ultra 125sv and have had the GT54 and now GT54 transducer reading the bottom and fish out in 80m of water off the Tweed Coast. For most recreational fisho's the Ultra range provides exceptional value, IME. I think a lot of users get caught up in the 'flagship' GPSMAP range, for which you have to buy maps and transducer separately. The Ultra 125sv, so next screen size up at 12", with same in built maps and with a good transducer is currently $3,550 Garmin Ultra 105sv comes with maps included and transducer. Yeah, look, I went through the whole research about 12 months ago. When you consider a current model around 10 inches is 3 grand and you need another transducer around 1 to 2 grand, it's not what the zverage boatie can afford. Not everyone updates their hardware every 2 years which is what the manufacturers seem to expect these days. I use it constantly even though it is a little bit retro.Īctive Captain is not very friendly on older systems. Reports of needing the subscription renewed or lose the map access after the 12 months. Again, check the detail, as it appears from the US users, the new products are not different than the g3 mapping products but come with an 'annual subscription' (g3 maps you own and decide if you want to pay for an update). NOTE: Garmin have just recently announced the new Garmin Navionics+ mapping products for Garmin Chartplotters. You might be better off buying a new map product than upgrade an old existing one, so check the options, details, and not assume you're presented with the best value option. Watch out for 'map updates' which are expensive and often not the best value for money option. I use direct internet download and install via SD Card and haven't had issues (previously ActiveCaptain downloads created issues for me)ģ. Once a software update is loaded, there is no going backwards, easily (some online hacks to do it that are not supported by Garmin). Software updates (firmware) tend to glitch more than direct PC download IME, and per online user groups. it automatically, and irreversibly, signs you up to uploading and sharing your own QuickDraw contours (many users don't want to give away their detailed mapping and got a rude shock when their contours were uploaded)Ģ. Watch if downloading 'community' quickdraw contours. Just a couple of 'heads up' if using ActiveCaptain:ġ. I ran homeport for a good 4 or 5 years, thought it was great, ah well, im only 49.25 so might have a chance at making active captain work. It is my understanding that Garmin has removed support for Active Captain markers from HomePort and that any update to HomePort will delete these markers. Yep, seems a bit lacking in the Garmin stable. The Nik Collection was perhaps the only one that had a bit of a learning curve. A few factors did arise, however, that are worth mentioning. Ease of useĪfter using all four apps over a few weeks, the first criteria almost fell by the wayside, since all four are pretty straightforward to use. Initially, I thought of judging them based on criteria such as ease of use, speed, features, and final product. That said, let’s have a look at what I found. I’m applying my subjective judgement to these images, and that should be taken into account when you make your own choices. The thing to remember is that these are just that - ideas and opinions. I worked on several images over the last few months, from portraits to landscapes, and came away with some pretty clear ideas and opinions on the strengths and weakness of each plugin. VSCO Film is available now for $119 per pack. Aperture doesn’t support that feature, so that isn’t VSCO’s fault, and the plugin for Aperture is priced at $79 to reflect that loss in functionality. In my quick tests, RAW images taken with a Sony A99 still looked pretty darn good though.Īperture users, take note that the camera profiles feature in VSCO Film isn’t available to you. You can certainly apply the generic “Standard” presets to images shot on other cameras, and they still do a neat job, but the effect won’t be as faithful to the original film you’re looking to emulate. A Fuji preset for 02 is apparently in the works. They currently have Canon and Nikon camera profiles for all three packs, and in something of a first, they also have Fuji presets for 01 and 03. It should be noted that the real strength of VSCO is, in my opinion, their combination of both camera profiles and presets. VSCO does offer a loyalty discount, so if you buy one of the packs, the others are available for a discount, bringing the price for all three packs under $300. There is a normal version that is, according to VSCO, the most faithful representation of what that particular film would look like for the image you’re working on, a “-“ version that tones the effect down somewhat, a “+” version that ratchets the effect up, and a “++” version that pushes it even further.Įach of the three packs is sold separately, and is priced at $119, making VSCO’s collection the most expensive of the lot here. Every film is made available in four presets. Each adds a number of specific films to the roster of available emulsions, building on the previous version. There are currently three collections available 01, 02, and 03. VSCO Presets and Camera Profiles in Lightroom These aren’t by ANY MEANS all the apps out there that allow you to emulate film, but they are the four that do offer both color and B&W film emulation. With that simple ground rule in place, I settled on four apps to look over. There are a number of apps today that can apply that vintage look, but that, to me, is not the same as truly emulating film. Although I’ve liked the look and feel of “vintage” filters that mimic (but not truly reproduce or emulate) old films, I made the conscious decision to seek apps and add-ons that seek to reproduce the look of black-and-white, color negative, slide, and instant film emulsions produced currently and in the past. I decided that I wanted the look and feel of “real” emulsions like Ilford HP5 or Kodak Portra. I’ll run you through the faves and you can decide for yourself what might suit you well…įor the past year or so, I’ve cycled various plugins and applications through my workflow, trying to find the right add-ons that bring the response curves and grain of old film back into digital images. We can all love digital photography just as much, however, so finding a happy medium is the task of this post. As the man said, the “look” of film isn’t something we are willing to part with….(and we’re not talking the vintage filters on your iphone or droid.) Some of this comes from an old-school love of grain some of it has to do with the fact that we just love the way film renders tonality and color. And no doubt you all will have some other tricks not covered here to add… In my studio we use a lot of digital tools to get this look and it seems there ar always new software toys emerging for this very job… But since I’m out on assignment now, I can’t think of a better guy to walk you through a handful of the very best options than my pal Sohail. Well, if you’ve ever been in a pickle over how to get the speed of digital with the look of film, join the crowd. I’m often dragging around my Polaroid 600, my Hassie 500cm, some Lomo stuff (or these other film cameras)… but it’s next to impossible to have clients get fired up to shoot film in a professionals setting. A lot of us still shoot film for love and for fun. Old works might be rediscovered, new works may enter the repertoire through repeated performance and good audience response, and established works can be left out indefinitely based merely on time constraints. Controversy Īlthough the term "standard repertoire" aims to encompass a set of established works, it is still subject to trends and the tastes of conductors, programmers, and performers. The term can be applied to any classical music genre, as in "the standard operatic repertoire", "the standard symphonic repertoire" or "the standard piano repertoire" referring to the pieces within that genre that fulfill said characteristics.Īs the standard repertoire is deeply rooted in the western classical music tradition, the pieces included respect the characteristics, complexity, and performance practice of classical music established during the common-practice period, although it is possible to find exceptions.ĭue to the "inflexibility" of the traditional techniques of composition and performance and the arduous and unclear requirements to enter the repertoire, a division has arisen between advocates of contemporary music and/or music outside the repertoire and those who promote and protect the founded tradition. As a result, much of the repertoire has become part of the teaching canon. The works in the repertoire have become need-to-know pieces for orchestral and solo instrumentalists, singers and conductors, as they encounter them in concert programs, competition requirements, and auditions, both for acceptance into academic institutions and working positions. In addition, because of their continuous presence in recordings and recital halls, the works from the standard repertoire are the most popular amongst the classical music audiences, and the performance of music that lies "outside the repertoire" generates much debate and discussion. The pieces that conform the standard repertoire date from the Baroque Era until the late 20 th century and follow the classical music traditional canons of composition and execution. In western-classical music, the standard repertoire, or the repertoire, refers to a large set of musical works that have been performed on numerous occasions by many orchestras, groups or interpreters across several countries over a long period of time. Super Mario 3D All-Stars may not have set the world on fire in a wholly positive sense, but it's nice to see Nintendo updating and improving the collection, especially considering how it isn't long for this world. The update also allows players to invert the camera on all three games, alongside squashing general bugs and whatnot. It feels a bit less natural to do so, but you can totally do it. It’s worth pointing out that the Gamecube controller can be used to play Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo notes that Sunshine's button layout will not reflect the GameCube inputs. It should also go without saying that you can only use a GameCube controller while the Switch is docked – which means Switch Lite owners are out of luck. Of course, you’ll need the GameCube controller adapter to make that happen. Those who downloaded the ver 1.1.0 update that dropped yesterday can now enjoy (or loathe) Sunshine the way God always intended. Namely, players now have the ability to play Super Mario Sunshine with a GameCube controller. If you like this project and want to help its development, please consider helping on Patreon.Super Mario 3D All-Stars may not have been the remaster fans hoped for at launch, but a recent update adds a couple of much-requested gameplay features. Power on the Wii again and from postloader go in the channels menu.Power on your Wii and run the homebrew "BTWiimoteInject" and when it's done turn off your Wii (there's no soft-exit).Very important: merge the folders, don't replace them. Unzip the archive and copy all the content of WMEmuHack to the root of your USB drive.Hiidra will remove its need, but for now we are stuck with it.īefore installing the hack make a backup of the "nands" folder in case you have save files you care about, just to avoid issues. Also, even though the bluetooth module is completely patched, somehow neek fails to boot if the module is not wired. The hack includes a new build of neek2o in which I fixed a bug that caused many games to corrupt saves. There are more features that I have planned, but I will reveal them in the future.īefore installing the hack you need to already have portablizemii installed (even the VGA patched one is fine). Can map a stick to the dpad (for games like Paper Mario or Kirby).Tilting and other movements will be included in a future release Support for emulating wiimote shaking.Fully customizable button/feature mapping via included configurator homebrew.Classic controller and motion plus will be included in a future release Currently support a bare Wiimote or a Wiimote+Nunchuk.Emulates a single Wiimote, more could be implemented in the future. For those who don't know, this hack allows to emulate a Wiimote by using a GC controller. It took a while, but I think I finally got to a point stable enough for a beta release. Singer Jeff Lynne frosted his voice in so many coatings of studio sugar that it hardly sounded natural. In an era of excess, ELO had no equal for sheer audio opulence. No band better represents the pros and cons of overproduction than ELO. Like bands such as the Beatles, Queen they have written some of the catchiest tracks going, everyone for some unknown reason seems to know the words to every song!! Similar to Genesis in the sense that for some unknown reason it has never been "cool" to listen to E.L.O.? I don't understand why?!! They may be seen by some as a fleeting pop group with catchy singles (which, with the sheer number of them I don't think you can really just write them off as such) or just some gimmicky group, but they really did something unique and special. The development of the rock opera concepts that would form the majority of On The Third Day and the entirety of Eldorado are probably some of the better takes on the concept. Being that Roy Wood left the band after that first album and Jeff Lynne took over fully, it's great to see his chops as a song writer grow with the epics of Kuiama, emotional pieces like Mama, and transformative covers like Great Balls of Fire (though they had worked on that one when Roy Wood was still with the band in a slightly different form to be found in the Set of Six recording). Centered on orchestral elements more than rock or pop, there's never been anything else quite like it. No Answer is a complete oddity compared to most of what made its way to my ears, even after my years of exploring music. However, I will say that in my preference, their work from the beginning through Eldorado are likely my favorites. From the experimentation of No Answer and its refinement on ELO II to the disco pop hybrid of Out of the Blue to the synth filled Balance of Power, I don't feel there's a single truly weak album in the discography. I am most likely too biased to really give a good review, considering I grew up listening to the band thanks to my father's appreciation of their work, but I still find myself enamored with the work. Necromancers are also equipped with a magic shield that will reset at each fight, helping to keep the Necromancer alive for longer. Instead, they summon skeletons to do their dirty work for them. Unlike the Rogue and Warrior, the Necromancer won't be engaging with enemies. To build the Refuge, players will need 12 Preserved Wood, 2 Preserved Stone, 4 Stable Metal, and 7 Food Supplies. This building does require a few more supplies than the Field Kitchen did. Once the Field Kitchen is up and running, players will want to shift their focus and start building the Refuge. You'll need the Field Kitchen in order to unlock this and the Necromancer class, so players should be sure to focus on building their Field Kitchens up first. Honestly, this is the best thing the build right away. The resources players will need to create the Field Kitchen are 3 Preserved Wood, 2 Preserved Stone, and 1 food supply. The first is the Field Kitchen, which players will be able to pick up after they've completed the tutorial. Unlocking the Rogue class will require the player to purchase a few upgrades to their camp. The Rogue is a bit weaker and has less health than the original character or the Necromancer. However, there is a slight downside to this character. This class of hero is a bit more agile and is capable of laying on the damage to an enemy. Tobangiapest527 - hub.docker Problems with. The Ice Climbers aren't very good at using their standard arsenal of attacks for continuous hits, normally speaking. Oddly, their cleats do not affect their traction on normal surfaces, as it's second-lowest in the game ( Luigi has the lowest). This is due to the fact that they are wearing cleats. A creative little addition to their character is that the Ice Climbers are not affected by the conditions of slippery surfaces such as ice, and they won't slide on it. If a player is feeling adventurous, the Belay special is a powerful KO move should the second Climber connects with the opponent, but it is generally an ill-advised use of the move given that it separates the Climbers and puts them into a helpless animation. Squall Hammer is a pretty decent approach attack with good damage and speed, spinning the Ice Climbers around each other in a forward-moving hammer attack. Blizzard, the down special, can freeze opponents and even cover both sides if the partner is present, or alternatively can be made to cover one side if performed while jumping with the partner, giving the attack more power. Their standard special move, Ice Shot, is a projectile fired by each Ice Climber which slides along the ground, making it impossible to avoid by crouching/crawling. The Ice Climbers are great at dealing damage when together, have decent attack speed, and possess a few interesting attacks in their arsenal. Should the CPU Climber get KO'd during the stock, the remaining Climber will have drastically reduced damage output, KO ability, and recovery, with Belay becoming practically useless and Squall Hammer loses a good deal of distance (whereas with both Climbers they are excellent recovery moves). In this scenario, it is advisable to stick to and protect the partner, even if it puts the player in additional danger. However, they can easily be separated by strong enough attacks. In addition, their unique property also makes them much harder to grab (when one Ice Climber gets grabbed, the partner can simply counterattack, making them immune to chain-grabs), and conversely allows them to have a superior grab game entirely unique to them (see "chain-grabbing and desynching" below). The Ice Climbers are able to grab two different items and are even able to grab two separate characters. The follower is always slightly weaker than the leader, but only the follower can meteor smash with his/her forward aerial. The Ice Climbers are midweight characters that have the unique property of being a "two in one" character, wherein the game considers each Climber to be a unique character in its own right. Neutral special projectile decreases in size over time and distance and can be effected by sloping platforms.Squall Hammer leaves them helpless after use.Recovery is easy to gimp and is severely weakened if Nana is defeated.Neutral special can be used for spacing and zoning as well as to hit opponents from above.Squall Hammer is a form of horizontal recovery.Belay covers a high distance and can tether to ledges. The Ice Climbers can be desynched to execute attacks in a manner that makes them difficult to dodge or make combos more difficult to escape.Excellent grab game, possessing an amazing chain-grab.However, if Nana is KO'd, Popo cannot use special moves correctly and is somewhat helpless during recovery. Professional Ice Climbers players are known to chain grab opponents from 0% to a KO inescapably. They currently rank 2nd on the official tier list (the highest among veterans available at the start) thanks to their amazing camping game, solid aerial and ground game, but primarily due to their extensive and intricate grab game that can completely shut down opponents once it begins. In Melee, the player had the option to change the color of the costume and play as Nana, and the option still exists in Brawl, however the Climbers' positions on the character select screen portrait will not change. The other is computer-controlled, in a manner mimicking the player. Although Popo and Nana fight as a duo, only one is directly controlled by the player. They have been given a significant texture boost to their character models. Melee, make a return in Super Smash Bros.
